About
Brett Maughan is a freelance lighting designer and technician. He was the Resident Lighting Designer for BDT Stage from 2014 until it closed in 2023, where he lit Something Rotten, Disney's Little Mermaid, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (2017 Henry Award nominee), Peter & the Starcatcher, The Addams Family (2016 Marlowe Award) and Mary Poppins (2015 Henry Award). Brett has also designed shows for the Aurora Fox, Town Hall Arts Center, Performance Now Theatre Company, Platte Valley Theatre Arts, Veritas Productions, Give 5 Productions, Lemon Spongecake Dance, and Aurora Dance Arts. Favorite designs include Rock of Ages (twice: BDT Stage & Veritas Productions), Hedwig & the Angry Inch (twice: Aurora Fox - 2018 Henry nominee & Give 5 Productions - 2025 Henry Award), Caroline or Change (Aurora Fox), and American Idiot (Town Hall).
